Happy Friday Monday! I realize this post is VERY late and I do apologize! Time just got away from me over the weekend. Last week our theme for Fabulous Friday was to create Mother's Day cards. I designed this one for my Mom and used her favorite retiring Sweet Soiree specialty DSP along with the retiring Large Letters framelits and Marina Mist card stock.
I am not really sure what this technique is called but I've seen a lot of cards on Pinterest using the popped up letters. It wasn't hard to do using my Big Shot and the Large Letters framelits. I centered the word and cut the "M-O-M" out of the DSP first. Then I cut 2 more of each letter from whisper white card stock scraps and glued them to the back to give them some thickness. The "O" I put back on the DSP for guidance on where to glue the center and then lifted it out and popped all the letters up using the mini dimensionals. Super easy! And the sentiment was stamped on one of the extra centers from the "O" that I cut out from the whisper white card stock. No waste!
Here is another view of my card. If you haven't had a chance to make one of these cards you really ought to give it a try! The Large Letters framelits are retiring so if you want to get them, be sure to place your order online here and use Host Code 9ER34VVW to be entered in a drawing to win the Burlap background stamp set for FREE! And for even more ideas and inspiration please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created this week.
