Happy Friday Saturday! I hope you have had a great week!! I apologize for the delay in getting this post published but I had a Mega stamp-a-stack today that I was prepping for yesterday and completely forgot. Yikes! Anyway, this was one of the cards for the class.
In honor of National Artichoke Hearts Day yesterday I asked my fellow designers to create projects this week featuring the color Always Artichoke for Fabulous Fabulous over on the Sisters in Stamping blog.
I usually pair some of the soft subtles or rich regals when using Always Artichoke, but after I stamped the leaf image on the card base it made me think of some long-retired tropical DSP that we had and I decided to use daffodil delight and tempting turquoise from the bold brights. I like the way they look together, don't you?! My Big Shot came in real handy with this card - I used it with the Seaside textured impressions folder to add texture to the daffodil delight card stock strip and also with the Layering Squares thinlits to cut out the scalloped tempting turquoise mat for the stamped panel. The 1-3/8" circle punch came in clutch for cutting out the sentiment, too. And lastly, I added some bling to the flower (colored with a daffodil stampin' write marker) with a little rhinestone jewel.
And here's how I stamped the inside of the card. I colored in the flowers here, too, with the daffodil delight stampin' write marker. It really adds a nice touch to the card and carries the image from the front to the inside. I didn't take a photo of the envelope, but I stamped this image on that, too.
Here is another view of my card. If you haven't used Always Artichoke in a while I suggest you use it on your next stamping project. And for more project ideas and inspiration please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created this week.
