Happy Friday! I'm so excited - the temperatures are finally falling here in Central Virginia and it is actually starting to feel like Fall. I love this time of year with all the leaves changing colors and the gorgeous blue skies. This week for our Fabulous Friday projects over on the Sisters in Stamping blog I asked my fellow Sisters to design cards featuring their favorite stamp sets from the Holiday catalog. Right now my favorite is this Gourd Goodness stamp set because it just screams Fall. I paired it with the Merry Little Christmas DSP checked print paper which is perfect for this card. It reminds me of a warm flannel shirt.
I didn't have any burlap ribbon so tried to create my own with the bow builder punch and crumb cake card stock. I distressed the card stock with a bone folder once I punched out the pieces and then sponged them with crumb cake ink. I like the effect. And how realistic do these pumpkins look?!?!? The pumpkins were stamped first with peek-a-boo peach (solid layer) and then the detail stamp was done using tangerine tango. I really like how these turned out. The pumpkin stems were two-step stamped with old olive and basic black, just like the DSP.
For the inside of the card I just stamped a little bit of the pumpkin stamp (also two-step to give it the realistic effect).
Here's another view of my card. For even more favor inspiration please be sure to hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to check out what the other designers created this week.
