My friend (and downline) Heather Guilliams had a bridal shower on Sunday (see my post here to see the wedding invitations we made for her) and I got together with Sherri and Darlene and we bought her a gift card. We each made her a card, though, so I needed a gift bag to put our cards and the gift card in so she had something to open. The card above features blushing bride (of course!), concord crush and whisper white. I pulled out a retired favorite stamp set for the bride (Happily Ever After) because I just love this image! I used my blushing bride, concord crush and pear pizzazz markers to color just the flower bouquet and then used dazzling diamonds and a 2-way glue pen for her tiara and beading on the dress. The strip of DSP comes from the Lap of Luxury package and I added some interest to it using my scallop edge border punch while the Big Shot provided both texture (polka dot folder) and the scallop square mat (Scallop Square Duo bigz die) for the white part of the card. I finished off the card with a knot of concord crush poly-stitch ribbon.
The gift bag started out as a just a simple white lunch bag. I attached blushing bride card stock to the front and also to the back, long enough that I could make a 2-1/2" flap to come over the top of the card. I jazzed them up with pieces of DSP from the Lap of Luxury pack and embellished the gift bag with another image of the bride on a scallop circle of concord crush card stock.
I colored the bride similar to the card and added little pearls from the Basic Pearls package to each petal of the scallop circle. The bag was held closed with some Velcro. The beauty of making your own bags is that you can make them whatever size you need and embellish to match your card.
Here are some pictures that we took at the bridal shower... you'd never know that I was wearing heels, huh?! I always feel so short around my friends!! Anyway, it was a great party, Heather! I'm looking forward to your wedding next month~
